Spheres
There are 3 quantities of interest in a sphere:radius, surface area and volume.
The surface area is given by 4 π r 2
The volume is given by 4/3 π r 3
The numbers above show that as the radius of a sphere is increased, the volume increases much more than the surface area.
Use the sphere calculator (on the top right) to check that yourself, by inputing various radiuses.
